About The Books

"I left you something on the nightstand," she said. "You did? What is it?" "Just turn over and look," she pleaded. He turned over to look, hesitantly, not wanting to look away from her. She always seemed to disappear every time he looked away. A manila envelope lay atop the white rustic nightstand and the word "Ryan" that was penned across the front was beckoning him. He glared at the envelope for just a moment before turning back to her. But she was gone. As Ryan Boone struggles to come to grips with not being able to keep a promise he made to his dying wife, Larkin's Letters propels readers into the mind of Ryan as he struggles with frequent visits from her ghost and a series of letters she leaves behind. Ryan worked hard to become one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors, but no matter how busy or famous he became, he always remained loyal to his childhood best friend, Larkin James. When Larkin is diagnosed with leukemia, Ryan sacrifices his career to be by her side and in turn realizes how much he had always loved her. Throughout Larkin's sickness, Ryan promised that he wouldn't let her die alone. But we learn that not all of our promises are within our control.

Review:  Larkin's Letters

Full solid 5 STAR chick lit read, but let me suggest that any guy looking for a deep, meaningful relationship read it as well. Powerful relationship dynamics exposed.

Those of you with a sensitive side, grab the whole box of tissues before you begin.
From the very beginning you understand how sad this novel will be. The important part is to read beneath the sadness and grab the joy. Find the power of love.

Ryan Boone is a 36 year old famous, millionaire actor. He could have any woman he wanted.
He is offered the best roles and can ask for any bonuses he desires.
Born to a typical Jersey family, he decided at a young age what he wanted. With perseverance, some luck and help of good friends he built his dream. He even married a super model.
But deep down, Ryan was the most loyal friend anyone, especially Larkin, could ask for. It originated in his genes. While that sounds wonderful, it left him open to make mistakes.

Larkin James was fortunate to grow up in the house next door to Ryan. She was a year younger, but they became best friends. Even when Ryan was dating others, he would never miss a special event in Larkin's life. She was there for him anytime he needed her. No matter the hour, if he called, Larkin would pick up. If he couldn't sleep, she would read to him the manuscript she was writing and shared with no one else, even the man she thought she loved and married.

When Larkin discovers she is seriously ill, she begins writing letters to help her stay strong and to understand what is most important in life.
This book is alternately told from present time and the letters when Ryan finds the courage to read them. You will find yourself wishing the supply of letters is endless. Like our days in this life, we know that is not possible.

Be prepared to feel anger along with sadness but don't miss the positive emotions and lessons this book offers.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
The author's skill at reaching my emotions and keeping me engaged guarantees I will pick up the next book I find with Jax Jillian's name.

My dearest Larkin. Help me. I'm drowning. It has been almost eight months since the love of his life, Larkin, passed, and Ryan Boone has
tried to make good on his promise to her to keep living. The letters she left behind had helped him tremendously, but all of a sudden, he felt like he was drowning and only she could save him. The only way he could think to reach out to her was to write her letters, just like she did to him. He never thought that she would actually get them;
after all, she was gone. But when he sees her sitting on their private dune reading his letter, his grief would never be the same. Ryan's Letters, the sequel to Jax Jillian's first novel,Larkin's Letters, takes readers on a journey with Ryan Boone as he struggles to completely come to terms with his wife's death. That struggle becomes even harder when Larkin's ghost comes to visit him each time he writes to her. But when Lux, a beautiful new doctor, moves in next door and befriends Ryan, he must choose between Larkin's visits and a potential new love.

Review:  Ryan's Letters

I strongly suggest you read Larkin's Letters before you read this book.
Have tissues on hand. Then take a day to let it all sink in, then continue on with Ryan's Letters.

This is about everlasting unconditional love. It is about appreciating life and friendship and relationships and family no matter what life throws at you. And it is about continuing to live when you don't remember how. Larkin again steals the story. Her letters reach your heart deeper than any others.

Ryan tries to make good on his promises. When it seems he begins to move forward, he gets in his own way.Lux has her own baggage. She is looking for a fresh start because she can't continue the way life and guilt are making her feel. Can they help each other or is each lost in their own pain?

Another wonderfully written emotional experience from author Jax Jillian.
